"From beginner to World Champion, Sykes single sculls are unique" Five different shapes and sizes. Like athletes (and like rowing technique), we are not all the same. Sykes boat shapes provide for geniune Men's and Women's as well as Heavyweight and Lightweight designs - not simply a bigger or smaller mould of the same design. Each shape has been designed and is built for a purpose. Not everyone wants or needs an elite racer built for out and out speed. While of course this is our mainstay, we also produce supremely a range of comfortable, stable and competitive beginners / training / racing boats. What's more Sykes Boats are built to last. The first Timber Scull built by Jeff Sykes over 38 years ago is still in existence today. While we no longer produce these beautiful craft in timber, we have every reason to believe that our composite boats will be around for an equally long time, outlasting most rowers and of course our competition.
