Coxless Fours and Quads provide a feeling of easy speed like no other when they are humming along between strokes. Sykes hulls aim to maximise the run between strokes with the least wetted area in contact with the water.
Sykes' Fours and Quads boats have had success both in Australia and overseas, most recently medalling at the World Championships, Sydney World Cup and World Under 23 Championships.

Our club recently took delivery of yet another Sykes quad/four (this one a mould 422). We are a masters club with membership about 50/50 men/women, so flexibility is important to us. This new boat has been a huge success (as have all our Sykes quad/fours over the past 10 years). It has quick-release riggers, which allow us fast changes from four to quad and back again at regattas. It also has frig rig plates which allow us to swap the sweep riggers to any position, so we can change to any sort of seating arrangement. We use pop-out pin spacers so we can quickly change swivel heights. All this gives us the fast flexibility we need with a membership of all sorts of ages and sizes and abilities. The boat is a dream to row, fast and maneuverable.
Sue Wannan, North Shore Rowing Club
Our small Tasmanian club purchased a new Sykes 4-/4x- Carbon Coxless Wing Four Mould 422, with the boat arriving in late 2015. We went through an extensive process before selecting this boat, including looking at a range of second hand boats. In the end, the Sykes boat was actually seen as far better value for money. As a small club from a lower socio-economic region, we also saw the Sykes boats as being very durable and therefore again value for money. We do also have seven other older Sykes boats (all pre-2000, two 2x/2-, three 4x/4 with one being timber, two VIIIs including one timber), and they are all still in regular action, and are all still very row-able even 30-40 years after their original purchase.
Before and after the purchase, the Sykes team were very professional to deal with through the processes, and assisted greatly in organizing delivery to the club’s door.
